Whatcha Find Wednesday

Last Wednesday our family had the opportunity to celebrate and remember the true meaning behind a significant day in history, Independence Day. I had decided not to post anything that day, in order to remove any distraction it may created. That significant day has given me the opportunity and freedom to share what we are doing here on the homestead on a weekly basis. For that, I am very greatful.

This Week I have a few things to share with you.

Here we have Lenny kicking his feet up on a desk and filing cabinet he found in pieces and re-assembled. He finally had the chance to create a small office space in his workshop. Job well done.

He also found an old boom box, TV, and karaoke machine. I have a feeling that the karaoke machine will get quite a bit of use once we are able to have our late night bonfires again. This dry weather has almost killed all of our grass and we don't feel like starting any grass fires.

And finally we have the ab lounger sport. It appears to have never been used. Go figure. I wonder how many people waste money on contraptions such as this, only to tuck it away in a corner, forget about it, then try to get rid of it in a yard sale with no takers, then finally putting it out for the trash man to pick it up. What ever happened to good old sit-ups and crunches, they are free and don't take up space.

Well there you have it. It's always fun to come across things that you can use, reminisce about, and laugh about. Till next week happy hunting.

  1. Hi there, I just stumbled across your blog. It's great. I love the recipes and the fun Whatcha Find Wednesday posts. A few weeks ago I literally jumped out of my friend's moving car when we passed a small portable kitchen island cart on the side of the road. Haha! I, too, love finding things curbside or at yard sales to upcycle. One website I've started using (http://www.yardsalesearch.com) finds and maps out local yard sales for me. It's a great yard sale resource. Just wanted to pass that along :)
