Well we have our official first aid bag!
The other day I went to our local super market to see what I
had to choose from in order to store our first aid supplies, unfortunately what I had
been looking for was not a part of their selection. I checked out tool boxes
with their removable trays and many compartments but found them to be too bulky
for transportation. I looked in the sporting equipment, which offered tackle boxes
and bags but nothing had quite what I was looking for. Duffel bags, no, storage
bins, no. I decided to take a break from the store and sleep on my
thoughts of what exactly I was looking for in my first aid bag. I wanted easy accessibility,
the bag must open widely so I can get to whatever I need with ease. It must have
additional compartments to make finding smaller items easier. It must be
spacious, in order to hold larger items such as bottles of alcohol, peroxide,
or gauze pads. It also needed to be easy to grab and go in the event we
needed to vacate our home. So as I am contemplating, it hits me like a ton of bricks.
Why not an old suitcase? I have one not being used in the basement. It is compact but has the ability to expand. It opens widely, has additional compartments, and is made for travel. Eureka! I found what I was looking for without having to go out and buy something new. Perfect.
The Basic Suitcase
With expandable sides that can be zipped closed when not needed
Large enough for big items with a couple additional compartments that zip closed which I am using for hand sanitizer and medication less used like anti-diarhia or laxatives.
Multiple ways to carry with handles on 2 sides
Or it can be rolled on wheels
Items such as bandages, alcohol swabs, q-tips, and some medications (allergy medication, some kept in the original package and some removed) all kept in zip lock bags to save on space and easily organize.
The bag met each requirement I had in mind with the
exception of not looking like a first aid bag, which I am fine with. You can go
out and find something that looks all pretty and red but in the end it's the
practicality and the ability to utilize with efficiency that really matters.

We have also a bag like this that the first aid can put inside the bag. That's really cool. Thanks for posting this.
